Phone stands for a kitchen counter
A phone stand on a kitchen counter has to remain readable while leaving room for food preparation. Its best position may be away from the spot where the phone normally lands when you come through the door.

Choose the location before the stand
Set an empty cup where you imagine the stand will go and prepare a normal meal around it. This simple placeholder reveals whether the location conflicts with chopping, opening a drawer or setting down a plate. Keep the eventual phone position away from heat, steam and splashes in accordance with the phone manufacturer's instructions.
Consider which direction you approach from and whether cabinet lighting creates a reflection on the screen. A stand beside a wall may need more tilt adjustment than one on an open island. Measure the space with nearby cupboard doors open as well as closed; the stand should not become an obstacle whenever ingredients are fetched.
Match the cradle to the phone and case
Compare the support ledge with the complete phone, including its case. A narrow ledge can be unsuitable for a thick protective cover, while high retaining tabs may obscure the lower part of a recipe. Look at photographs showing the stand from the side instead of relying only on a front view.
Check both portrait and landscape positions if you use recipes and videos differently. The charging port, buttons and speaker should remain accessible in the orientation you need. An adjustable joint is useful only if it holds that position with the actual phone fitted; the weight of a bare display model may not represent your setup.
Plan for a light touch
A broad base and a sensible center of gravity matter when scrolling. On arrival, try a normal tap with the phone in place on your own worktop. If the stand rocks or slides, do not assume adding an improvised weight makes it suitable. Compare the manufacturer's recommended surface and load limits before changing the arrangement.
Keep any charging cable out of walking routes and away from the working area. A cable pulled taut behind the stand can undo an otherwise stable setup. If the phone is only there for a short recipe session, leaving it unplugged may remove an unnecessary complication.
Make cleaning part of the choice
Examine the underside, hinges and retaining ledge for places where crumbs will collect. A plain surface may be easier to wipe than a decorative mesh or a deeply grooved base. Follow the stand's cleaning instructions, and remove the phone before cleaning rather than spraying around it.
Decide where the empty stand belongs between uses. A folding design can free a small counter, but it should fit the drawer without pressing against knives or other awkward objects. The useful purchase is the stand that fits both the cooking routine and the clearing-up routine, not merely the one that holds the phone at an attractive angle.
